Parent Coordination Process

An Attorney may suggest participation in the Parent Coordination Services to a divorced or divorcing client. The attorney discusses this option to the opposing attorney prior to any appearance in Court. If both parties agree, then the Attorneys notify the Court of the client's request. The Court usually supports the decision of the parents and finalizes it in a court order. The order must include a comprehensive description of the responsibilities of the Parent Coordinator and the parents, similar to the sample provided by Cooperative Parent Services.
